Rise and Shine! My 7 AM Morning Ritual

Let’s be honest: being a mom of a toddler is beautiful, chaotic, and absolutely exhausting. Your mornings? They’re usually about everyone else. There’s breakfast to make, tiny clothes to find, snot to wipe, and somehow you’re still in your pajamas wondering if you’ve actually brushed your teeth. By the time your little one is off to school, it feels like you’ve already run a marathon before 8 AM.

It is all the more important for us to take back control of our mornings, carve out a little routine for ourselves that not only sets the tone for the day, but does wonders for your fitness goals. My routine might seem like an overkill, but the key is that I started small. Really small. One tiny ritual that took five minutes. Then, as I got comfortable and started feeling the difference, I added another piece. And another. Today, my 7 AM routine is a carefully-crafted, nutrient-dense “stack” that takes less time than scrolling through your phone, but delivers sustained energy, glowing skin, and joint support. And honestly? It feels like a superpower.

It’s about saying: “I’m worth this. My health is worth this.” Because when you take care of yourself first, you have so much more to give to the people you love.

Let me show you how I built this ritual, step by step—and how you can too.

Step 1: The Prep Work & Hydration

🌱 Soaked Figs, Almonds & Walnuts

Most people don’t know that nuts and seeds contain compounds that actually make them harder to digest. Soaking them overnight neutralizes these inhibitors, essentially “unlocking” all those beautiful nutrients.

Why this matters: You’re not just eating nuts—you’re giving your body a fighting chance to actually use what they contain.

What you get:

  • Healthy brain fats: Walnuts contain omega-3 fatty acids that fuel your brain. I notice the difference in focus and mental clarity on days I have them.
  • Fiber for digestion: Your gut microbiome is your body’s command center. Fiber feeds good bacteria, meaning better energy absorption, clearer skin, and improved mood.
  • Sustained morning energy: Unlike a pastry that spikes blood sugar, these deliver slow-release energy that gets you through your morning without reaching for your third coffee.

Step 2: 🥄 1 tbsp Roasted Haleem (Garden Cress) Seeds + Lemon Water

If there’s one nutrient people consistently underestimate, it’s iron. Low iron doesn’t just make you tired; it affects your skin, hair, workouts, and mood.

Garden cress seeds are packed with iron and folic acid. One tablespoon might sound small, but nutritionally speaking, it’s a serious player.

Here’s where lemon comes in: Vitamin C dramatically increases iron absorption—we’re talking 3-4 times more bioavailable. By adding that squeeze of fresh lemon to your water, you’re maximizing the benefit of those seeds.

What you feel:

  • Better red blood cell production: Your blood carries oxygen to every cell. Supporting this process makes everything work better.
  • Combat fatigue: That 11 AM energy dip? Often traced back to iron levels. This step helps prevent it.
  • Visible improvements: Within 2-3 weeks, people notice shinier hair, healthier nails, and clearer skin.

Step 3: 🐟 1 tbsp Marine Collagen in Room Temperature Water

Collagen is the scaffolding of your skin, joints, hair, and nails. As we age, we produce less. Marine collagen is sourced from fish and is smaller in molecular size, making it more bioavailable. Room temperature water preserves the protein structure better than boiling water.

What this does:

  • Joint support: Mom life involves carrying a toddler, bending, lifting, playing. Your joints take a hit. Collagen helps repair and strengthen them. I notice significantly less post-workout soreness and achy knees.
  • Skin elasticity & glow: Collagen supports skin’s structural integrity, translating to a plumper, more radiant appearance—working from the inside out.
  • Hair and nail strength: Sleep deprivation and stress take a toll. Since adding collagen, my hair feels stronger and nails don’t break as easily.
  • Gut lining health: Your digestive system’s protective lining is made largely of collagen. Supporting this reduces inflammation and improves nutrient absorption.

Step 4: Chia Seeds + Creatine + Lemon Juice + Lukewarm Water

Chia seeds are nutrient bombs: omega-3 fatty acids, fiber, and they absorb liquid creating a gel that keeps you hydrated longer—essential when your body is naturally dehydrated upon waking.

Creatine is often misunderstood as just for gym-goers. It’s actually one of the most researched, safest supplements available. It increases ATP production in your cells, powering your brain and body at the cellular level. For moms? It supports cognitive function, energy production, and mood—all things we desperately need on three hours of sleep.

What this delivers:

  • That visible glow: When cells are properly hydrated and energized, it shows on your face. People ask if you’re wearing makeup.
  • Omega-3 fatty acids: Essential for brain health, skin elasticity, and reducing inflammation.
  • Cognitive clarity: The combination supports mental focus. I’m sharper during morning calls and more patient with toddler chaos.
  • Sustained hydration: Chia’s gel-forming properties keep you hydrated all morning.

How I Built This (And How You Can Too)

Here’s what I want you to know: I didn’t wake up one day and do all of this. I started with one thing. Just the soaked almonds. That was my first week. Then I added the garden cress seeds the next week because I was actually noticing a difference—more energy, better mood, clearer skin.

Slowly, intentionally, I kept adding. Because each piece was working, and I wanted more of that feeling.

This entire ritual now takes less than 10 minutes. Five minutes of prep (soaking was done overnight), five minutes of mixing and consuming. That’s it.

But those 10 minutes? They’re an investment in your entire day—and in the mom you get to be. When you’re nourished, you’re present. When you’re energized, patience comes easier. When you’re glowing, your little one sees that and feels it.

Start with one step this week. Just one. Pick whichever calls to you. Then notice how you feel. I promise you’ll want to add more.

Here’s to mornings that are finally, beautifully, yours. 🌅✨
